Aside from that ridiculous picture Dom posted the other day, she's actually been a really good mother partner mother. She's affectionate and attentive to Ellie, and never complains about spending time with her. And the few times we do things together as a 'family' have been really nice, actually. It's been impossible to do any of my experiments, but it's mostly because I'm too nervous to bring Ellie down to the Greenhouses without knowing that she'd be alright.

As odd as it is to say this, I think I'm going to miss this assignment when it's over.

Nina, that idea you gave me is brilliant. Difficult, but unbelievably brilliant. Once I effectively combine these elements I've been working on, I think I just might have a winner.

--At the moment, I've got down the charm that creates the words and the images (on normal parchment) and it's had pretty good showings on the leaves and flowers I've tested it on as well. The biggest concern is to find a plant that is strong enough to support a big enough canvas so you can actually see the work.

--I've also managed to create a fake "parchment" out of a combination of leaves, though I'm still working out how I want them to look aesthetically. I've got blanched white ones as well as a more natural pale green...

--I can get the leaves all together, but when I do that, the charm to turn the "pages" makes them tend to stay puffed up (like a book on it's spine with the pages all splayed out), rather than laying down and calmly turning from page to page.

I'm sure I could work out that issue, though I don't even know that I want the pages to turn. I might just make a more complex charm for the words and pictures that loops, rather than permanently charming them to the plant.... So many possibilities. I suppose this means the bonsai tree experiment is on a hiatus.

Did she like the flowers? You did a wonderful job on them, really.
